I love Fridays

It's the "Do whatever I want" day.

I'm in my sweats most of the day; I lounge around; catch up on shows, etc. I did spend a big chunk of my morning on my new iPhone. (Max and I are complete dorks now. He is off to work, but we will definitely be playing each other games of Scrabble).

I get to spend the day doing my crafts and projects. Namely, the Quiet Book, which is coming along nicely. Some pages are cuter than others, proof that some days I rush through and some days I put some love into it. Hoping to wrap it up here soon!

I get to do my routine "Friday Cleaning" of the bathroom and bedroom. I'm always in the mood to do the laundry and scrub the sinks on Fridays... huh. CooL! I'd rather be in the mood than not...

Amongst other things, its a day I get to do favors for my hubs. Max gave me the lovely task of getting the oil changed today... Sure why not! As long as I can dink around on my new phone. That should keep me  plenty busy!
Did I mention, this is my 'look glamorous' day? Ha. I didn't even wash my face... But the iPhone sure looks awesome! :D

New book....

The Pizza Principle.

It's a free e-Book recommended by Peter to Max and Max to me. And since I haven't run to the library recently, I'll start and finish this one in the meantime. It's about building your own pizza a.k.a. building financial stability. LOVELY. Usually not my type of book. I am more of a fiction kind of girl. But because Max asked me to...

Here's the link in case you're interested! I'm already convinced we shouldn't be looking at condos right now. Renting looks better and better... ha!

Book Review

Finished! Quite a story. My advice? It's best to read a big chunk of chapters during your sittings. You'll get more out of the book and be "in the story" more so than just reading snippits. Probably why it took me so long to get through the first half of the book. I'd still like to see the movie. I've heard it's pretty good.

Isn't it in The Office where Andy sings showtunes and one of them is from this musical? I've had multiple incidences where I'm singing it in my head as I'm reading... ha.

The question now is... what's next?

Quilt Ladder Project

I seriously am so happy with this project. We have acquired some quilts, both from Max's mom, Lori, and ones that I have made (more to come!). They were just piling down on the floors, over the tops of chairs, on top of the bed... and I wanted to display them nicely. If you've ever made a quilt, you'll know that it takes time and patience. They are well worth displaying.

Inspired from the quilt ladder Peter and Meghan received from Lori, I decided I wanted one too. I looked online to see how much they were going for. $80-$100+. TOO MUCH. So I hauled Max off to Home Depot with me one day, and we bought the pieces of wood and sawed the rungs to the exact size we wanted ourselves. My dad was great and helped me nail it all together and then I painted it. Today was the last coat of paint I gave it. And wallah!

I felt giddy bringing it upstairs to test it out. And this is what you get:
It looks so good. I like to think of it as "wall art." And all the colors are so vibrant and pretty. The iPhoto booth doesn't do it justice.

Of course, I took the blankets off because it was still a little bit tacky and it's better to be safe than sorry! The whole project cost us under $30. Sweeeeeet :)

it's not perfect but i love it

The arms and legs are elastic so the babies can have fun with that "boing" effect.

I saw this idea online and just had to do it for my little Everett...his nursery theme is robots! SO CUTE.
9 down. 13 more to go.

Day 5

This is the second day of sewing. I'm taking this part slowly because, if you have ever worked with a sewing machine, they can be quite the problem when it doesn't do what you want it to do! Let's just say I have been doing a lot of grunting and modest swearing under my breath (ex. crap) ha..

I've sewed 5 pages (the shoe page is probably my favorite thus far). Working on #6, but it was giving me grief this morning so I decided to take a break. I was going to throw the sewing machine across the room. Good thing I have to leave for art class in 20 minutes.

I still love that I'm doing this massive project. Really.

Day 3.

So I decided to remove two pages from the book because... well, they just didn't serve a great purpose. They were cute as all get out, but not necessary. So, I have 22 pages of cut outs. Bring on the sewing!
