Call back

cool kid art 6, 11/2008Image by steev-o via Flickr
KidzArt called me. They want me to come sit in on a class to make sure this is what I want and that this will work for me (and Max). They want me. I've only had 3 interviews my entire life. All 3 were successful. Ha. Three...

Gotta say, closer it comes to commitment I get anxious. Will I be a good teacher? Can I teach these K-5th grade kids how to draw?! I'm sure I can. I know I can draw. But teaching is a whole other ball game. I've taught karate, I've taught a college class (once...remember?) and I've even taught my niece and nephews how to draw various things before. A lot less structured type of teaching with them, but still...it counts.

I need a job. Something to make me feel like I'm working towards something...like a paycheck. That would be nice to see our piggy bank get a little bigger... I'm excited. I love art. I love kids. I hope my fear of teaching or falling below expectations does not hinder my succeeding!

10.17

Miles.

My feet don't hurt. No blisters. Just shows how vital GOOD socks are when running long distances.

Maybe its time to look into new shoes. My knee is hurting and that only happens when my shoes are worn down on the inner sides, rolling my knee every time I step.

I need to follow the "early to bed, early to rise" method...it already gets too warm for my liking by 8 am.

Need a new playlist...I can only listen to Replay so many times before I get bored. Next thing you know, my pace slows down...

19 weeks and a day left until December 5th...

7 days left to register...or to change my mind.

Craigslist.

I hate it when people post jobs on Craigslist but do not tell you WHAT their business is. I mean, I was sending out resumes to people I have no idea what they do in their companies. Lame. I'm more picky about where I email my resume now. As so should you.

By the way, I got a call from KidzArt. Interview set up for Thursday. Is an art teacher for kids set up in my future? My verrrrry part time future? (we're talking a couple hours for a couple days a week).  Who knows. Could be fun.

If you have any leads, let me in!

Karate, Running

The only two things I'm really working on at this point. I ran about 9 miles total Saturday night. I was surprised at how "in shape" I really am. And I felt good. It only got hard towards the end because I knew I was closing in on the finish and mentally...you just sorta give in at that point. I should probably work on that since word on the block is the second half of a marathon is all mental and its more than just a "second half" its like 4 times as hard. Great.

Karate. I've probably started Black Belt Prep a dozen times and have never really gotten far either due to moving back to school or down right laziness. Well, the projected test date is set for December. Man, I'd be the happiest girl in the world if I ran my marathon AND earned my black belt all before celebrating my 1 year anniversary with Max and Christmas. I kid you not, I'd be in Heaven with those 3 accomplishments under my belt.

The karate demonstration went fantastic! Karate is the only type of performing that does not make me nervous or want to throw up. I'd hope so since I've been doing it my whole life. If you have a Facebook, go to this link here. And if you don't, go here. Many, many years of preparation, teaching, and practicing went into this organization and being a recipient of all that hard work is a blessing.

On top of everything, I'm getting a bit of a sore throat. My body is aching and I slept in pretty late this morning, missing the chance to get in an early morning run to beat the heat. I'm hoping my body can get it together so that I won't have to skip out on any runs or karate classes..I hate falling behind.
