Bistro Challenge

I roamed around quite a bit yesterday searching for an inexpensive table and chairs for our balcony. I've wanted to make it a nice sitting area so we could enjoy it more! Well, everything I liked was too expensive and everything cheap, I didn't like.

My brother and sister in-laws had this little Bistro set sitting outside in their backyard:

As you can see, it's seen better days. It sat all winter long out in that backyard and has paint chipping, loose boards, caving seat boards, and it even had a wasps nest under one of the seats. I'm happy they were going to throw it out because I was more than willing to take it off their hands!

So this is my challenge. To restore this Bistro set to its formal "cuteness" only cuter because it won't be black anymore... I'm hoping I can get it done before this weekend when all of my Getz family gets in town!

Book Review: The Help

Great book. I loved the story and seeing the different views of the various characters. I love reading the books before the movies come out because it lets me imagine the characters in my head, which, with this book, was not a hard thing to do! Miss Hilly is a pain in my butt. Haha.

For now, I'm going to take a break from reading... I'm too busy with school, work, karate and family gatherings! And if I ever do have time to read, I should be reading my beloved Chemistry textbook :)

But I would still like some recommendations... I may make a trip to the library sooner than later and it's nice to be prepared. Happy reading!

Back to School

Thanks to the efforts of my husband and mom, I have mustered up enough motivation to get back into school to pursue another degree in nursing.

This summer, I am taking a Chemistry class, a pre-requisite for a pre-requisite, and it is pretty concentrated! I'm talking Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 2:10 pm! That's a whole lot of Chemistry for the next month and a half.

And I'll be praying every day that I'll make good grades. Enough to qualify me for the next set of science classes at least. More than enough to give me a boost of confidence but let's not get over the top with the wish list, guys...

Anyway, I'm excited. I feel like I'm productive again. I don't feel like I'm just "wasted space" the majority of my day. I'm actually working towards something that means something to me.

And

Happy 8th Birthday to my nephew Max. He's such a sweetheart, I love him to pieces!
