Holiday planning..

So, my mom had us all sit on the stairs (mom, dad, grandma, max and I) to take our Christmas picture. Here we are, sitting in a torn up house on dusty stairs, freezing our butts off... my dad manages to pull off one of those "I'm-so-uncomfortable-being-squished-onto-the-staircase-what-the-heck-are-we-doing" type smiles. I'm in sweats and in Max's hoodie. Max is the only one still dressed in his Sunday best (good thing we put him in the FRONT of us homely looking folks, you know being in our "lounge wear" attires).

Needless to say, this is all leading up to Shutterfly's promotion going on! Thanks to Cassie E. for posting on her blog about it!). All you need to do is go to Shutterfly and register for the promotion. Write about it on your blog and let them know! You'll get 50 FREE cards of your choice for doing so!
It would be fun picking out a design for this holiday season. It has been a crazy year! Check it out on Shutterfly.com!

This whole card is perfect. The setting, the outfit, the design. Love it.
Pop of red rings Christmas!
Fun and festive. Not over the top. Love it.

Happy Holiday

The past couple days have been so great. Especially since it meant getting out of the torn up house for hours at a time. The Getz crew came into town. Turkey Trot 10k (which I wasn't registered for...sneaky sneaky). Football for the guys and kickball for everyone else. Had a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner prepared by my mother-in-law. Played with my nieces and nephews. More eating and loving. And don't forget Black Friday madness.

BTW, I have never partaken of the grueling, sometimes satisfying if you're lucky, Black Friday frenzy that sweeps this nation the day after Thanksgiving. Nope. But it was so fun talking about it and looking through all the ads with my family. Needing, wanting, dreaming... Consumerism! Sheesh. BY FAR the best deals were at Michaels. Yeah, sure I'd love all those neat electronics and goodies at Target, Walmart, Best Buy... But the art supplies and crafts?! I went to Michaels twice! Couldn't resist it. Can't wait for Christmas morning to open it all and get creative! And yes, that second time I went, I got myself some goodies that I can use before christmas day, ha.

That day was so long and a little surreal. It was 5 pm yesterday and it hit me, "It's still Black Friday." Key word still. I'm cool with the long day and all since it meant "more time" with family, but 3:40 am is a little early for me! And my sister, E... she's prego and even got up at that time!

Needless to say, last night's sleep was like heaven.

Sadly, I have no pictures documenting the past few days.

Unfortunately, money doesn't grow on trees and I can't just buy that dream camera I want (you know... the kind every MOTHER has? fancy.)

... I tell Max I need one when we start having kids which could be as soon as this time next year... who knows ;) HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Blog make-over

I know it's Christmas theme... and for some, that may seem pre-mature... but what the heck! It won't last forever, and before you know it, it will be 2011. :) Happy Holidays!

One stress= Eliminated.

I sold my marathon registration. And I made $5, which means I am now $100 richer. Woo-hoo!

And an update of my life:
1. SF with Max to visit family--Heidi, Ari, Zev, Jordan, Stella, and Brian. So fun to get out of town and enjoy some one on one time with Max shopping around the city. Funny story... we're in Anthropologie. Max comes up to me with a pair of earrings to see if I like them. And of course, I said yes. He walks away. Later, when we return to EDH, I text him while he is at work and ask, "Where are those earrings you got me?" He replies, "I didn't get you earrings." I said, "Yes you did weirdo, I saw them!" Well, it was a little too late before I realized he was trying to save them for Christmas. OOPS! He gave them to me early :)

2. Still sick. Sore throat coming back. Maybe I shouldn't eat SO much sugar. Which brings me to number...

3. Apple Hill trip with my family yesterday. LOVE Apple Hill. We even took Grandma up; she was definitely getting a work out with all that walking! Kettle corn, carmel apples, apple fritters...apple shakes! Ah, sugar overload.

4. Max and I saw a movie last night called Life As We Know It. Um, hello, cute movie! All the women in the audience were dying over the baby star in the movie. If you don't know, it's about two godparents (not married, not dating, they hardly can stand each other) who are faced with taking care of their friends' baby due to a fatal car accident. They juggle work and their social lives while raising a child and trying to get along with each other (Max would say there's a lot of sexual tension. Ha..ha..very funny Max). Though a love story does evolve (predictable!). I absolutely loved it because the baby was so cute and the neighbors were hilarious. And I'm a sucker for love stories as well. It's no surprise that after the movie I asked Max to give me a baby and he dodged the request, HA!

5. Taking grandma to get Michael McLean's autograph on our Forgotten Carols stuff tomorrow. Ok, I'm a complete nerd but I'm excited. I love the Forgotten Carols around Christmas time and us women (Mom, Grandma and sister, Erin) are going to the show the week of Thanksgiving. We have the book, CD, and I have the piano book! Plus it's a good reason to get out of the house for a little bit and browse around Deseret Bookstore.

Happy Sunday!

Because I'm married.

Ever get the, "Well you're married now and it would be weird" statement? Old friends hesitating to talk to me because I'm a married woman or not even hesitating at all and just stopping all together (boys AND girls). I'm married. No longer single. I guess that equals no common ground? It's like I dropped off the face of the planet. Why don't I just crawl into a hole and die... I get lonely sometimes and it would be nice to have someone to talk to. I'm like on the verge of tears when old friends contact me to catch up. You have no idea...

That's so us!

Last night, Max and I were trying to figure out what to do.  After a phone call, Max says, "Let's call up Taylor and Amelia to go out to dinner and dancing" or "We could drive up to Tahoe and party!"

Extravagant plans, right?

Well, we decided driving an hour and a half to Tahoe wasn't too appealing since he had work in the AM. And Taylor and Amelia were already in Tahoe for a Cal Fire event. So, that's out.

The night was going and I was hungry for dinner. He was hungry for dinner. I suggested we go OUT for dinner. So its planned we'll go out and eat. First, Sky Sushi...30 minute wait, no thanks. Next, Chiles...40 minute wait, no thanks. Finally, Sir Vesas...5 minute wait, crappy menu, no thanks.

Can you guess what we ended up doing?

We ended up getting Taco Bell and a Redbox movie to watch at home. With my parents and grandma.

TYPICAL. Or as Max says (while laughing to himself), "This is so us!"

He's learning!

I'll always make comments like, "Why don't you get me flowers every now and then?" and comments like, "I want to be romanced." Max FINALLY listened and got me, for the second time since dating, a bouquet of flowers. Sure does brighten the room when I walk in :)

Cheese-ball smile

Let's hope we'll have a repeat of this sooner rather than later. I crave romance!

Didn't sleep a wink last night

Sore throats are nasty little things. You can't talk, you can't eat, you can't hardly swallow!
The ever-annoying cough that comes with it is leaving me sleepless and I'm sure Max isn't sleeping much either..

So...I'm a bit cranky. I feel kinda crappy. I'm bummed that I can't run because I know I haven't been eating entirely healthy the past month, so my body isn't exactly happy. I've been pretty sedentary. Except for soccer nights. And karate nights (when I go).

I'm tired.

Really tired.

Being sick bites.

I love that it's November

Good-bye Halloween. HELLO Christmas!

(Not that my family has already been watching Christmas movies.
Or that I have been playing Christmas piano music.
Or that I have been putting my Christmas music on in the car.)

I love holidays.
